If you are looking for affordable, after-school tuition for your child in a safe, stimulating environment then Kip McGrath Education centre in Letchworth could be for you. We have been teaching students from Letchworth and the surrounding areas for over five years now and offer personalised tuition for students at both primary and secondary school level.
Our tutors are all qualified teachers who have many years of teaching experience in the UK. Our tutors specialise in English and Maths and they are able to prepare your child for SATS, Common Entrance Exams, 11+ exams and GCSEs as well as supporting and stretching your child in their day-to-day literacy and numeracy work.
Our Kip McGrath tutoring takes place in a modern education centre in Letchworth town centre. The stimulating classrooms are comfortably furnished and each student has their own designated working area with their own computer and spacious desk.
Before any tuition takes place, all our children are assessed by a qualified tutor in order to assess each pupil’s individual educational needs. As a result of these initial assessments, your child will have a personalised tuition plan upon which individual lessons are planned. These lessons are tailored to your child’s own personal needs so whether it’s handwriting practice, spelling, analysing a novel for GCSE coursework or problems with times-tables and algebraic equations, your child will be catered for.
Each of our tuition sessions lasts for 80 minutes and during that time our students will usually do a mixture of both maths and English depending on their individual needs. We use our own educational material as well as standard text books and past Exam papers. The session will be based around a number of different activities, some involving computers and others using pen and paper. This diverse approach helps even the youngest child remain focussed and makes learning fun. At the end of a session, homework tasks are set to ensure your child has the opportunity to revisit concepts they have learnt with us. This also allows you to see the type of work your child does.
Your child will receive individual attention and will get new concepts explained, any problems solved and immediate feedback on work produced. At the end of each session we offer feedback to parents to keep you up-to-date with your child’s progress. We also welcome this time as an opportunity to discuss any problems your child may be having with school work or any issues such as IEPs so we can adapt our approach accordingly.
